31 mei 2008 opende Vovnjau haar deuren in het mondaine zuidelijke gedeelte van Amsterdam. Deze boutique onderscheidt zich vanaf het begin van alle andere dierenzaken door de nadruk te leggen op het modische aspect van accessoires voor honden en katten.Vovnjau rekent af met de traditionele invulling van een dierenwinkel zowel in concept, inrichting als in de producten. Daarbij wordt het welzijn van het dier NOOIT uit het oog verloren. Is het niet goed voor het dier, dan verkopen wij het niet!Op basis van dit concept is ook de naam van de boutique ontstaan: Vovnjau. Woef en miauw in het Scandinavisch. Wij spreken graag de taal van het dier en dan met een hip Scandinavisch teintje.
