Tassenmuseum Hendrikje is a unique museum showing the history of the lady's handbag in western culture: From the late Middle Ages up to the present day.
A large part of the more than two thousand pieces - purses and accessories - are presented in some fifty showcases. They give a fascinating picture of the great variety of shapes, materials and decorations which the handbag has gone through during the centuries. The museum regularly presents, next to the historic collection, work by contemporary purse-designers.
The museumshop always offers a large assortment of exclusive purses by good Dutch designers. The shop is therefore the ideal place for the woman looking for something out of the ordinary.
