Fondation Pierre Bergé

Fondation Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent | Yves Saint Laurent and his business partner, Pierre Berge, have just launched the fab Fondation Pierre Berge Yves Saint Laurent and the address alone is a thrill. Number 5 Avenue Marceau was the Yves Saint Laurent couture salon for 30 years and it's worth going just to see the specially woven carpet in the entrance hall - it looks like green watered silk. Until July 18, the exhibition space features Yves Saint Laurent - dialogue avec l'Art, which highlights how the designer has taken his inspiration from various works of art. Examples include his iconic Mondrian dress which is displayed next to an original Mondrian canvas. The foundation also houses the entire archive of Saint Laurent's sketches and loads of his clothes. These aren't open to the public but are available for academic study on request. It's open Wed-Sun, 11am-6pm
