Dean Burke

With nearly two decades of design experience, Debby Dean has created her debut collection of jewelry, Dean Burke, with business partner Maureen Burke. Dean went from the Art Institute in Chicago to Paris, apprenticing some of the fashion industries top designers. Upon returning to The States, Dean successfully launched her own line of clothing. Recently, Dean relocated to Los Angeles where she has been lending her sense of style to the fashion industry by styling for photo shoots with celebrities, advertising clients and magazine editorials. Inspired by these experiences, Dean's desire to design again was ignited.
Dean has always been passionate about jewelry and exotic travel. With these in mind, Dean approached Burke about creating a unique line of jewelry. The two then embarked on a life-changing journey, traveling to India to create the new line.
There, at a palace in Jaipur, Dean Burke unfolded. Dean would work all hours of the day and night creating the designs. Waking before sunrise to the morning chanting throughout the city along with the sights, sounds, smells and colors of India gave her the inspiration needed to create this organic yet elegant collection of jewels. The two hand selected the most beautiful, organic, precious and semi precious stones pairing them with brilliant 18kt and 22kt gold. Each piece was then hand crafted. Allowing each piece to have it's own individuality. Just like in nature, no two will be exactly the same.
Close encounters with elephants, camels and monkeys paled in comparison to their chance meeting with the Dalai Lama and their spiritual experiences in the Himalayas. Their paths crossed with many unbelievable people on this journey making this experience complete. This is why it is an important collection to Dean. It was the journey that made the collection.
Dean and Burke met years ago in Chicago. The two would collaborate on concepts for fashion shows and photo shoots. Burke has been a makeup artist in the fashion industry for over 20 years during which she had her own line of cosmetics. Burke has also relocated to Los Angeles and has been working on similar photo shoots. All of these experiences and their love for fashion and beauty have brought the two together again as the design and development team of Dean Burke.
