The ever evolving jewelry of Cathy Waterman has come a long way from the 22k gold ancient and medieval inspired "treasure chest" pieces of the early collections. However, her path has remained clear and the work is, as always, identifiable. The most recent, "Color of Dreams" collection includes platinum and diamond vines embracing colorful beaded tassel earrings and richly hued beaded bracelets enrobed in platinum and diamonds. They are modern and feminine, yet reminiscent of eras past. Cathy's work has journeyed from the turreted architecture of Europe and its castle towers to the lush and mysterious gardens that surround them. Surrounded by her own gardens, Cathy Waterman works from a sun splashed studio. Ivy and roses cling to every outside wall and the roses from her gardens fill the air with their delicious scent. Her studio kitchen exudes an aroma of its own -- soup on the stove and bread in the oven as well as fresh gingerbread for after school visitors. The studio overlooks the Pacific Ocean, a must for Waterman who says the sight, sound and scent of the sea is crucial to her inner peace.
