Emeco Chairs | Designer Philippe Starck is well known for wit and irony in his work but for his latest collaboration he turns his back on kitsch entirely. Joining forces with US company Emeco - Electric Machine and Equipment Company - Starck has breathed new life into a range of its aluminium chairs that have been design classics for the last 50 years. Emeco has been producing aluminium chairs for the home and office since 1944 when they were originally used on US Navy ships and submarines. The Starck Emeco range, of which the signature is the Hudson in high polished or brushed aluminium finish, also includes barstools, stackable chairs and folding chairs.
