Inter Parfums
Inter Parfums is active in the perfume and cosmetics business and specializes mainly in prestige perfumes. Created in 1982 by Philippe Benacin and Jean Madar following their graduation from Frances ESSEC business school, Inter Parfums began by developing mass market perfumes before deciding in the early 1990s to focus on the selective perfumes niche.
In 1993, the company signed a licensing contract to produce perfumes under the British brand name Burberry, the first step in a strategy designed to create a portfolio of international perfume and cosmetics brands in the high-end, ready-to-wear, and high fashion and accessories sectors.
In 1995, the company raised growth capital by listing its shares on the Second March of the Paris Stock Exchange and subsequently entered into new license agreements with S.T. Dupont in 1997, Paul Smith in 1998 and two LVMH subsidiaries, Christian Lacroix in 1999 and Celine in 2000, and Lanvin in 2004.
In April 2004, Inter Parfums acquired majority stake in Nickel SA. Established in 1996, Nickel SA has developed two innovative concepts in the world of cosmetics: spas exclusively for male customers and skin care product lines for men.
The Nickel range of some fifteen skin care products for the face and body is sold through prestige department stores primarily in France, the balance of Western Europe and in the United States, as well as through its men's spas in Paris, New York and, most recently, San Francisco.
