Bernardo is a maker of better grade women’s footwear and handbags. Founded in 1947, Bernardo has a rich Italian heritage, which lives on to this very day. In fact, Bernardo is the only U.S. manufacturer which has it’s own design and product development team based in Florence, Italy. Designers Dennis and Lynne Comeau, along with lead technician Alessandro Giordano, maintain both the design studio and technical office while working with their staffs to produce some of the world’s finest footwear and handbags. All Bernardo products are conceptually designed. With some specialty items produced in Brazil, all Bernardo products are handcrafted with great attention to detail in order to insure the quality, comfort, and fit. Bernardo is most famous for it’s classic and timeless "Miami" sandal. Dating back to the company’s beginning, the "Miami" sandal was a favorite of the jet set, and Lilly Pulitzer crowd during the 60’s and 70’s. Yet still today, the "Miami sandal, is as new and fresh as ever before.
