The company and the first Sonia Fortuna label emerged from the love and passion of the eclectic Sonia Gonnelli, who in 1985 set up the one-man company of the same name, giving vent to her personal flair and her undeniable passion for everything that represents women’s fashion. The evolution of the company and the success of its products led to the need for a new corporate structure. It has hence been transformed into a corporate enterprise, providing the basis for the boosting of turnover and the reorganisation of resources and structures; major focus is given to the human element, which has always been considered the fundamental lever for the strategy of corporate development. To enhance an increasingly feminine fashion line, devoted to the young, dynamic woman involved in the working world who impersonates the identity of the "Sonia Fortuna" fashion proposal, the first single brand store was opened in 1997 in Florence, just a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio. This was followed by other openings, the latest of which in the prestigious Via della Vigna. In just a few years the Sonia Fortuna brand established itself throughout the national territory and in many foreign markets, as the result of a winning product which notched up an elevated "sell-out".
