London Denim | Established in Brick Lane in 2001 London Denim launched its first collection at London Fashion week in September 2001.The company was founded by Londoner Simon King who after Denim epitihiny at the top of a New York skyscraper in 2000, quit his job and returned to London to make jeans. Using Japanese ring spun, rope dyed denim as the base fabric, and with a focus on sexy jeans silhouettes London Denim creates clothes for every woman and man who demands their clothes are made from the best materials and that make them look the very best they could possibly be. London Denim is heavily influenced by Kings experiences in the different parts of the greatest city in the world. Translating the sexy and seedy, the good and the bad sides of London into new styles with echos of the history of the use of the denim fabric. Denim is a very sexy fabric made so because of the history of its use says King,Its the fabric of work-ware, teenage rebellion and rock and roll. London Denim weaves together these influences to create pieces which stand out from the crowd, celebrate the body and looks to the future with experimentation, fabric mixing, hand dyeing, hand finishing and an eye for the creation of figure hugging, bottom lifting sexy silhouettes which make the wearer look and feel sexy. For the first three seasons King worked with Julian Roberts on the design of the core jeans silhouettes and seasonal collections.Season four he worked with Natalie Teni Born and Georgina Bartlet, RCA and St Martins Graduates and experimented with different denims and design and detailing techniques. In 2003 King met Peter Card on a trip to Japan, the two instantly bonded. Card convinced King to move his denim production to Japan and within 6 months took over as Creative Director of the brand. London Denim is now designed by Simon King and Peter Card. London Denim is a wholly owned brand of London COM Limited.
