Laura Long | The individuality of Laura's antique market finds, combined with the warmth and comfort of home, has inspired both her knitwear and the stunning handmade paper beads. Hand knitted jumpers, cardigans, scarves, hats and accessories made from luxurious cashmere and the highest quality lambs wool and embellished with personally selected vintage beads and buttons, give each piece a feeling of pure nostalgic comfort! The stunning paper beaded bracelets and necklaces, individually decorated with pages from old books and magazines, look set to be vintage treasures for years to come. It seemed almost inevitable that Laura would end up with a creative career. Brought up in Brighton surrounded by antique shops and dressed in hand knitted jumpers made by her grandmother, Laura developed a love for traditional crafts and collecting vintage treasures. In 1999 Laura moved to London to study textiles (specialising in knitwear) at Central St. Martins, After graduating with 1st class honours she was awarded a prestigious Textprint prize to exhibit her degree collection at Indigo, Paris and has since exhibited at both London and Paris fashion weeks.
