Lanidor | Founded in 1966 and forming part of a large industrial group involved in textiles, Lesilan, the firm which owns the brand Lanidor, immediately became an important Portuguese chain of shops connected with the marketing of knitting materials. Lanidor is, today, the biggest chain of women’s ready-to-wear shops in Portugal (78), with a further 12 shops in Spain, and one shop in each of the following: Brazil, Lebanon and Switzerland. As from 2001, Lanidor women’s shops become known as LA Woman and three new concepts are created: LA Kids, LA Caffé and LA Factory. LA Kids is the children’s brand in Lanidor, addressed to children between the ages of 2 and 12. After the opening of two pilot shops, there are at present in operation 30 shops in Portugal, 1 in Spain and another in the Lebanon, and others should be opening in the near future. LA Caffé is a design restaurant, forming part of the three Lanidor megastores (in Entrecampos, Av. da Liberdade and Central Park), according to the present trend of the most prestigious fashion brands. Besides a carefully thought-out menu, LA Caffé offers a collection of recently published magazines which is constantly being updated and the possibility to surf for free on the Internet. LA Factory is a concept devoted to the marketing of Lanidor articles, under the outlet system, and has 5 shops in Portugal.
