Inwear
The Story of InWear – More Than 35 Years of Quality. The InWear story started in 1969, when founder Niels Martinsen launched a line of casual fashion women’s clothing that emphasized quality. InWear already began its international expansion in the 1970s, when the first subsidiaries were established in Sweden and Norway, and the brand moved into the Belgian, Dutch, German and UK markets. The first InWear retail shop opened in 1980, and the company’s geographical expansion continued throughout the 1980s, crossing the Atlantic in 1983.
By the early 1990s, InWear had consolidated its success, establishing sales offices in Canada and Switzerland and entering the French market. When the company reached its 25th Anniversary in 1994, there was a lot to celebrate.
InWear became a major player on the world stage of fashion in 1996, when its shares were listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
Today, InWear products are sold in department stores and fine boutiques in 30 markets, and the company has its own retail shops in 12 countries. Niels Martinsen’s original vision has guided the InWear brand to its place today as one of the most popular clothing brands in Europe, Canada and Hong Kong.
