I Pinco Pallino | Imelde and Stefano Cavalleri have shared their life and work for 25 years, joining forces to create a fashion full of love for children. They live in San Paolo d'Argon, a small Italian town in the province of Bergamo, where they escape from the bustling and stressful city life and are thus able to better concentrate on their creations. Children, culture and the land are words often used in the social activities that Imelde and Stefano Cavalleri devise and sponsor. First of all, being parents and entrepreneurs tenaciously involved in the reality of their land, they work in a factory sitting beside a river that is decorated with the words of a fairy tale. It is an ideal, secluded and peaceful place to return to after having abandoned the frenetic bustle of the outside world, and where lovingly created garments are born. Evidence of their love for travel, furniture and knick-knacks bought during a visit to a market can be seen in every corner, and together with a book read, a film seen or one of the fairs they have visited, they are ideas used to breathe life into their new collections. Their love and loyalty for their native land blend with their insatiable curiosity and an all but inexhaustible desire to discover the world and be directly involved in new challenges. Attention, love and understanding of children are a true mission for I PINCO PALLINO. It is for this reason that the company has been active for years in charity work that comprises UNICEF, Togheter for Peace Foundation, WWF and cultural projects that focus on making children aware of the world of art. The world of children is important to Imelde and Stefano Cavalleri in its totality, taking into consideration the entire panorama of society and culture drawn together by the underlying theme of a fashion conceived and made to measure for children with lots and lots of love. In January 2004 I PINCO PALLINO promoted the project “Observatory on the Image of Minors”, together with the University La Sapienza in Rome and the Università degli Studi in Bergamo. The purpose of the Observatory is to analyze the relationship between minors and advertising, stimulating reflection and discussion by granting a scientific base to the debate. The final results have been presented on the first February 2005 in a Meeting in Rome that has been opened by the speeches of the Nobel Prize winner Prof. Rita Levi Montalcini and of the Vice Major of Rome, Mariapia Garavaglia, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Italy, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
