Alexandra Groover

London-based designer Alexandra Groover presents her debut collections:

Originally from California, Groover moved to London in order to promote her designs to the international fashion market. Utilizing her learning experiences gained in the studios of Alexander McQueen and Zandra Rhodes, she decided to launch her own company. Her two collections, Black Label and Grey Label, were created to fulfill her need for expression through sculptural and textural manipulations of fabric.

Black label is a small capsule collection of formal dresses inspired by the architecture of shells. Made from felted wool and washed silk, these dresses concentrate on the sculptural properties of the felted wool together with the flattering, body skimming properties of bias cut silk, making the visual impact of the dresses both classic and avant-garde.

Grey Label is a seasonless collection of basic and essential wardrobe pieces that have all been enhanced by the addition of unique and exaggerated design details taken from the classic zip up hoody. This collection focuses on wearability, but at the same time offers a unique twist in designs that experiment and play with the textures and comfort features of conventional sportswear.
