Henry Huntsman

Henry Huntsman established his tailoring business in the West End of London in 1849 as a Breeches Maker and Sporting Tailor. The company prospered and in 1865 received the Royal Warrant to the Prince of Wales. This was their first but was followed by many more, both to the Court of St James's and to Royal families around Europe. Henry's two sons Frank and Harry joined their father in the company and in 1919 were responsible for the move to the current historic premises at No. 11 Savile Row. As is common in the tailoring world, Huntsman has combined with and absorbed several companies over the years, most notable of which was the long established Carpenter & Packer in 1932; each of these companies has brought new specialities and expertise into the firm. The Huntsman style represents their subtle yet distinctive interpretation of current trends in the fashion world. The cut and style of the clothes and their understated elegance has earned Huntsman an enviable reputation, attracting a loyal and discerning clientele from around the world.
