Following his Bachelor of Arts at Central St. Martins, London; where he was awarded the only First Class Honours and then his Masters of Arts at the Royal College of Art, London; Malaysian-born Justin Oh worked at Charles Jourdan in Paris and, most notably, at Yohji Yamamoto in Tokyo. The Justin.oH label began in 1995, when Marks & Spencer sponsored his first Show as part of the New Generation Designers, to critical acclaim. The London based design company has grown organically and is now in its 9th year, producing 2 men's and 2 women's collections a year.
The Justin.oH Look 'the re-invention of tradition' is Justin's design mantra. His unique design sensibilities play on the staples and traditions of our world heritage. Vintage detailing and finishing is used extensively and brought up to date, giving his clothes an effortless timelessness and quality. The designs very often appear deceptively simple - another of Justin's philosophy, he wants his designs to look effortless when worn. An eye for detail and quality has seen Justin's label grow year-on-year. Justin has also carved a niche for himself in his use of the humble cotton, resulting in his collaboration with Cotton USA for SS'04, AW'04 and SS'05 involving the development of new exciting weaves with the Cotton Inc research laboratories.
