Hannah Marshall

The Talent | Amongst the UK’s most talented designers is Hannah Marshall. The Statistics | As an up and coming fashion designer and business woman, 23 year old Hannah from Essex, UK, has already established herself as an innovative talent. Up until now her work has been recognised by the BBC, the Crafts Council, Channel 4 and NESTA (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts). Since graduating from the Colchester School of Art and Design in 2003 Hannah has undertaken various industry placements. Her first class fashion degree has led to work with designers Jonathan Saunders and Ebru Ercon in the infamous build up to London Fashion Week.
Ongoing intensive business training through NESTA, the Portobello Business Centre and the NGCE (National Centre for Graduate Entrepreneurship) has helped shape her vision and business implementation.
The Collections | Hannah’s womenswear label Hannah Marshall endeavours to push the boundaries of sophistication, encapsulating a range of luxury contemporary classics. Designed initially with the professional and socialite woman in mind, her label soon developed into something unique as the ever increasing desire for her capsule wardrobe to be as versatile and shifting as her day became apparent.
Most recently, the collections have intellectually explored the senses and the way we use clothing to communicate with the discreet coding of Braille. Effectively challenging the way we use clothing as a language and to encourage a greater social awareness. Yet, what remains is a unique hybrid of timeless, refined, intelligent and eminently wearable clothing.
Award highlights include receiving Business Links ‘Excellence in Business Start Ups’ award, 2004’, and the ‘One Year On’ award 2004 in association with the Crafts Council. Hannah was presented with this prestigious award by Design Week magazine for originality and innovation.
The Philosophy | Each collection forms bases upon one philosophy - addressing clothing in a socially inclusive context, combined with the idea to defy the seasonal trends that fashion so regularly dictates.
