Toronto Fashion Incubator

Officially known as the Toronto Centre for the Promotion of Fashion Design, The Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) is an innovative, non-profit, small business centre designed to support and nurture new fashion entrepreneurs.
The TFI began in 1986 as an initiative of the Fashion Industry Liaison Committee (FILC), a volunteer industry organization supported by the City of Toronto's Economic Development division. It was proposed that a fashion incubator could stimulate business growth and ensure the continuing vitality of the fashion industry in Toronto, the city's second largest industrial employer. From an economic development perspective, this would translate into job and business creation and sector growth.
Two years later in 1988, the Toronto Fashion Incubator was established as the first incubator of its kind in North America.
