Alta Roma

Alta Roma | In 1998, the Agenzia per la Moda SpA, a company founded to promote the city of Rome on the Italian High Fashion circuit, was created by the Rome Chamber of Commerce and the Muncipality of Rome. In 2001, a significant evolution took place with the entry of high profile private partners who transformed the Agenzia per la Moda into Alta Roma SpA. Thanks to this evolution, resources were increased and activities were extended to include a reformulation of the economic potential of the fashion sector in Rome. AltaRoma’s activities are focused not only on maximizing the potential of Rome but also on promoting and further strengthening the activities of those players who represent creativity, style and tradition. In December 2003, thanks to the support of some of the most important institutions in Italy such as the Rome Chamber of Commerce, the Municipality of Rome and the Regione Lazio, Alta Roma renewed its commitment with the transformation of Alta Roma from a joint stock company into a share-holding consortium. Within the scope of the relaunch of High Fasion (a luxury field which digs it's roots in Rome), Alta Roma aims to increase cultural exchange with foreign countries whille contemporarily promoting casual wear and street style companies, a small though vital industrial catchment area with very strong entrepreneural characteristics. AltaRoma committs to set up a scheduled timetable of high-quality events all devoted to promoting the Rome Fashion scene and addressed to the international fashion community and medias. The city of Rome, it's territory and it's widespread creative resources in the fields of fashion, art and architecture, represent a great potential for the italian fashion system.This applies to its image, as well as its industrial resources, its creativity and its culture: a huge potential though maybe somewhat underestimated and not thouroughly exploited. These are the major reasons why this event is bound to be greatly reassessed. Revamping Roman High Fashion, the search for local creativity and the cultural exchange of worldwide talents is one of the main objectives of our July session of events wich is envisaged to be the first of an annual appointment which is devised to distinguish itself on the international calendar.
