Meet the PB girls: Anne Marijn
Anne Marijn Hiemstra l 22 years l Warehouse Manager at Perfectly Basics
This week yet again a sneak peek in the world and the life of one of our Perfectly Basics colleagues. This time the young but ambitious and creative Anne Marijn Hiemstra. She has been with us for more than a year, she runs the warehouse and she is responsible for all the incoming and outgoing packages. Quickly read her answers below to find out more about our always versatile and cheerful colleague.
I got my job at Perfectly Basics… by responding to an All-round Employee vacancy on fashionunited.nl. I was invited for an interview and there was a click on both sides, shortly after I started working there.
I studied… Graphic Design at the Graphic Lyceum and I have a diploma in All-round Styling from Artemis Amsterdam.
My job means that I… together with my team ensure that incoming packages are checked and unpacked, that the clothes are hung ready for steaming and eventually for the photo shoot. Next to that we make sure that orders are processed, packed and shipped so that all packages are delivered to customers on time. In this process I am end-responsible and thus I ensure that targeted problems are solved. I also consult with other departments so that all these departments are well-attuned.
In the past I wanted to… I actually have no idea what I once wanted to be, but I do remember that I liked the idea of working with horses or being a gymnast.
An average day at Perfectly Basics… starts with a good cup of coffee and a nice chat with my colleagues. We then start with the returns after which we can start processing.
I wouldn’t be able to do my work without… my wonderful colleagues obviously and not without the Bastogne and syrup cookies either, which can always be found in our kitchen.
The best thing about my job is… managing and working with a young team which consists of a lot of ambitious girls whom all love to work in fashion. Another thing that gives me a great feeling is when we process another huge mountain of orders just in time for them to be picked up and send to customers. We really try to makes sure that every time a customer orders something they experience it as receiving a gift.
My typical style… are the colors blue and black. I think you can call my style feminine and classic. I like wearing dresses with knee-high boots underneath, but jeans with a timeless cardigan and ballerina’s are also amongst my favorite combinations.
A great basic needs… a nice and comfortable fit, amazing quality and next to that is needs the perfect finish.
My ultimate basics are… a black and navy dress and greatly fitted jeans.
My favorite items in the shop are… the O’Neal coat van Paul & Joe Sister, the Andorre Blouse from Paul & Joe Sister, the Onyx scarf from Marc by Marc Jacobs and the Dinner Dress van Filippa K in the color Juniper.
On my day off on the weekends I prefer… to have a nice lunch with my friends, going to the market or to the city to buy beautiful flowers for in the house and at night obviously a fun party.
When I want to treat myself… I go shopping by myself and buy lots of expensive things, this differs from interior accessories to fashion.
Everyone should drop by in our VIP Room because… so that you can shop at ease, all the items you want to try on are picked for you and time is always made to give you personal advice and tips.
