Elegance at Elegance Awards!
The Elegance Awards, an initiative of elegant magazine Elegance, took place last night and of course Perfectly Basics was there! This year’s location was the super chic the Grand hotel in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was great, all this elegance in one room! It was the perfect fashion party: from the flowers at the entrance so huge they can stop traffic, the photographers who tried to catch a glimpse of all those beautiful women to glamourous party dresses and heels – high heels!
After a festive welcome with sgroppino and salmon canapés Anita Willemans, editor of Elegance (also a beautiful, elegant woman herself!) handed out the awards. The 19 year old, intelligent, talented actress Sigrid Naples received the first award. In the category twenties it was the sexy and ambitious actress and model Sylvia Hoeks.
The award for the most elegant thirty-year-old went to singer Do because she’s classy, versatile and a real power woman. Considered by many to be one of the greatest Dutch actresses of the Netherlands, Monic Hendrickx, received the award for the most elegant woman in the category forties because she's naturally elegant. Writer Jessica Durlacher finally, a strong and inspiring woman, won the last award in the category fifties (we can’t believe she’s already fifty years old!).
Singer Do proved, with her beautiful voice, elegance is not only about outer beauty but – even more important – inner beauty as well. Writer Jessica Durlacher said about elegance: ‘For me, elegance is about expressing the true enjoyment of life’. Thank god, then we can all learn how to be elegant!
