AFW Opened!
Yes! The Amsterdam Fashion Week was officially opened yesterday. This means that the next 5 days will be one big party all in fashion’s honour. Claes Iverson kicked the show off yesterday with much soberness and monotone colors, he ended his show with a surprisingly fresh floral whole. Femininity stays key in his entire collection.
Marga Weinmans made her debut at the AFW. She’s shown her face in Paris at several presentations and exhibitions already but now she’s ready to take the Netherlands too. Interactivity is the red line throughout her collection a longs with cities and architecture. The highlight was her ‘Vodafone‘ dress, a dress made from three hundred mobile phones. The mobile network got the dress to change color when the audience started calling it from their phones.
There are many more interesting shows on the program this week. The catwalk program takes place on Wednesday the 11th till Sunday the 15th of July at the Westerpark area in Amsterdam. No time to come and have a look? All the shows can be livestreamed on the AFW website.
