Aga, Tomek and Pshemko are the team behind Siereks (pronounced Shairex). This Polish-born clan resurrecting the idea of the family fashion business is presenting their debut spring/summer collection during London Fashion Week on 20 September 2001. Exploring an everyday object on the periphery of fashion, Siereks have taken the ubiquitous plastic check laundry bag and created a capsule collection from its humble traits. Normally the sort of uninspiring accessory seen in grimy college dorms, hauling wares by the homeless or dragged along by old ladies in Chinatown, this seasons container muse is, if nothing else, cheap and easy. A rather lowly item with the most ordinary of boxy design, dubious construction and simple two-tone check patterns on woven plastic, it is an unlikely creative source for a budding young fashion label.
